You can choose busy. You can choose stress. There’s no right or wrong, but what would it take to choose joy, every 10 seconds? It’s so easy to get stuck in the trauma and drama of this reality - controlled by our mistakes, governed by blame, shame, regret and guilt. It’s tempting to rest in the familiar. When you’re upset, people worry. When you’re angry, they want to be involved. Confidence is silent. Insecurities are loud and sometimes, we just need a hug. But what if joy is the most magnetic force in the universe. Who you truly be – what makes you happy…what if that’s enough? More than enough? What if you’re magic?
It’s nice to have friends - to know that people are there…but we lock ourselves into impressing people. Making sure that they love us - sad when they don’t. Validation. “Tell me who I am. Tell me what I’m worth.” What do you know?
There’s something to be said about discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way. You need to be kind to you. Love you. Nurture you. Become who you truly be, on your own. Go on adventures. Fall asleep under the stars, wander around the market, buy a bunch of fresh flowers, sit in a coffee shop on your own. Leave notes in your library books, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot, do all things with love. Joy comes to us in ordinary moments. We risk missing out when we're too busy chasing down the extraordinary. Slow down. Look up. Feel the sun. Take your shoes off.
When you live from infinite being, life unfolds with ease, joy and glory. Shine brightly. See beauty. Speak kindly. Love truly. Give freely. Live thankfully. Create joyfully.
Blessed with a hand to hold, or boldly living for yourself…it isn’t any less beautiful, I promise.
